“We don't require all of this young talent to suddenly get 20 years of experience and how to operate a chilled water plant. What we need to do is to provide them access to the people that know those things.”

In this episode, we are talking to the foundational fountain of smart building wisdom, Brian Turner. He has a background in field controls, programming buildings, and is used to the fact that technology advances faster than contractors could keep up with. And that was 20 years ago!

Today he is leading the charge as the CEO of Buildings IoT where he is bringing a balance of disruption, pragmatism, and optimism to the Smart Buildings arena. We discuss the challenges and opportunities with Smarter Buildings in the first episode of two.

We get to learn about what smart really is, and how it might affect how contracts are being created in the global real estate landscape. Only time will tell but Brian has some very interesting insights into the industry and beyond. What do you think? What will the world look like in 10 years? What will the commercial real-estate side look like? Will it be radically different? Or still, the same as it has been?
